Explore La Rosière at your own pace: the Discovery Trails
From flower-filled meadows to charming hamlets, passing by the Italian border and the banks of the Moulins stream, La Rosière offers families a mountain right at their doorstep.
A mountain doesn’t have to be steep to be memorable. In La Rosière, the Discovery trails (marked in green on the Trail Map) offer routes designed so that every member of the family can find their own pace. Ideal for children, beginners, or simply those who prefer to stroll with their eyes up rather than their heads down, focused on the effort.

Comfortable, closed-toe walking shoes are strongly recommended, even on easy trails. At an altitude of 1,850 metres, the ground may be damp or slightly uneven depending on the weather. You should also bring a cap, sun cream and plenty of water. The sun is stronger in the mountains than at lower altitudes.
Yes, dogs are allowed on all the trails, provided they are kept on a lead. This helps to protect wildlife, livestock and other walkers. If you come across Patou dogs—those large white dogs that guard herds in the mountain pastures: slow down, do not approach them, and calmly walk around the herd.
GPX files for all the trails are available free of charge from the La Rosière Tourist Office (+33 (0)4 79 06 80 51).
