PERMANENT TRAILS FOR BEGINNERS

Ski touring is enjoying a surge in popularity, but is often practised well off the beaten track.

In 2015, a network of special trails was created on La Rosière’s ski area, where beginner ski tourers can train just off the main slopes.

These trails raise awareness about the safety measures required for the discipline and the risks involved. They enable users to learn how to judge the safety of the discipline for themselves.

TOURING TUESDAYS!

€25 (tuition + equipment included)
Once the slopes have closed for the day, the resort’s qualified instructors (Ecole de Ski Français ESF and  Evolution2 ski and adventure school) will teach you the different techniques of this discipline: how to attach the “skins” to your skis, the switchback technique to help you climb, safety tips, etc. This two-hour introduction includes a Savoyard snack in the forest.

Several of the resort’s ski hire shops are involved in these Touring Tuesdays, so pop into any of these shops to hire equipment to match your height, weight and discipline.
