WINTER

Skiing with a touch of the dolce vita! The only international ski area in the northern French Alps, the Espace San Bernardo has joined La Rosière with the Italian resort of La Thuile since 1984. In winter, the only way to cross over into Italy is via the slopes. Please check the lift opening times and ensure that you leave plenty of time to get back to the French side at the end of the day. We recommend heading over to Italy first thing in the morning, to make the most of your day on the Italian slopes.

Thanks to its cross-border position, the Espace San Bernardo ski area has slopes on both the north and the south faces of the mountain, guaranteeing excellent skiing and varied terrain. You might even want to brush up on your Italian while on the slopes, though most Aosta Valley inhabitants speak excellent French and English.

SUMMER

From May to November, the Petit-Saint-Bernard pass is open to vehicles. Just 8km away from La Rosière, the pass is a direct gateway to Italy, plunging you into a completely different culture after just a short drive.

The delights of the Aosta Valley: La Thuile and its chocolate shop, the Ruitor waterfalls, Pré Saint Didier thermal spa, an abundance of Italian delicacies, Courmayeur, the Roman ruins… So many wonderful things to discover!
