Mont Valaisan & Freeride: skiing on a grand scale – since 2018, La Rosière – Espace San Bernardo has featured this spectacular new sector for advanced skiers.

With 5 red runs, an ungroomed black piste and vast off-piste terrain, Mont Valaisan offers technical skiing and a truly unforgettable Alpine experience.
Served by the 6-seater Moulins and Mont Valaisan chairlifts, the sector perfectly complements La Rosière’s sunny, gentle slopes. From the summit, enjoy sweeping views of Mont Blanc, Mont Pourri, the Matterhorn and the Vanoise glaciers.

Freeride: powder with freedom
The Mont Valaisan valley (south-west facing) offers 50 hectares of untouched snow and a 500 m vertical drop. Adrenaline guaranteed! The black Freeride piste, marked but ungroomed, reaches 2,400 m with slopes up to 74%. For the boldest riders, neighbouring gullies and slopes provide even more terrain – but only with proper equipment.
Safety first
- Never go alone.
- Mandatory kit: avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe.
- Strongly advised: airbag pack + first aid kit.
- Check weather and avalanche bulletins.
- Ask advice from ski patrol or the Tourist Office.
- Test your gear at La Rosière’s DVA Park.
