1. Petit Saint-Bernard Pass (2,188 m) – The unmissable cross-border pass

Distance: 16 km (round trip from La Rosière)
Elevation gain: +375 m
Level: Intermediate
Highlights:

  • Wide route, ideal for a first alpine climb.
  • Breathtaking views of Mont Blanc and the Aosta Valley.
  • Border crossing into Italy, with the option of stopping at the alpine botanical garden or the Hospice du Petit-Saint-Bernard.

Tip: Leave early in the morning to avoid traffic and enjoy the cool air.

2. Le Cormet de Roselend (1,968 m) – Between lakes and mountain pastures

Distance: 84 km (round trip from La Rosière)
Elevation gain: +2,520 m
Level: Advanced
Highlights:

  • Mythical climb of the Tour de France
  • Varied landscapes: forests, mountains, lakes and alpine pastures.
  • Option to return to La Rosière via the 2018 Tour de France climb and the pink route.
  • Departure possible from Bourg-Saint-Maurice.

Tip: Plan a photo break at the Roselend Lake viewpoint.

3. Col San Carlo (1,971 m) – On the roads of the Giro d’Italia

Distance: 56 km (round trip from La Rosière)
Elevation gain: +1,820 m
Level: Advanced
Highlights:

  • Mythical climb of the Giro d’Italia
  • Good quality road with little traffic in the morning.
  • Possibility of starting from La Thuile.

Tip: Plan a coffee break at the Col du Petit Saint-Bernard or La Thuile.

4. Lake Tignes – The unmissable dam

Distance: 62 km (round trip)
Elevation gain: +2,490 m

Highlights:

  • Passage over the Tignes dam.

  • Departure possible from Séez.

Tip: We recommend stopping at the Tignes dam for spectacular views.

Practical tips for your cycling trips

Safety: Always check the weather and road conditions before setting off. Mountain passes may be closed due to snow or roadworks.
Equipment: Bring warm clothing, a waterproof jacket and repair kit (inner tube, pump).
Refuelling: Petrol stations and restaurants are available in La Rosière, Séez, Bourg-Saint-Maurice, Tignes and Val d’Isère.
Transport: Shuttles equipped for bicycles are available in summer, connecting La Rosière to Bourg-Saint-Maurice and the Petit-Saint-Bernard pass.
