A CHARMING RESORT

One of the first things to catch your eye as you walk through the resort is its architecture: a combination of detached chalets and wood and slate apartment buildings.
La Rosière’s buildings are built using traditional materials, in order to preserve the resort’s village vibe.
The local farmers have permission to graze their animals on the ski area over the summer, meaning that the mountain pastures have a double use: tourism and agriculture. Any obsolete installations are removed, to allow nature to flourish.

A CLEAN COMMUNE

La Rosière was one of the first communes to install semi-sunken recycling bins.
Today, the resort boasts 29 waste sorting points.
In order to keep the slopes clean, pocket ashtrays are handed out for free in the lift pass offices, ski lifts, ski patrol stations and Tourist Offices. A litter-picking day is organised at the end of every winter season, in partnership with the Mountain Riders association.
La Rosière’s ski area has been awarded the ISO 14001 certification, the gold-standard for environmental management. An environmental committee has also been set up to centralise the data and participate in any decisions that concern the environment. Energy consumption is carefully monitored, thanks to the regular maintenance of the commune’s modern installations.
