In the Caribbean Sea during the 17th century, Jack Sparrow, a gentleman pirate, sees his idyllic life turned upside down when his enemy, the treacherous Captain Barbossa, steals his ship, the Black Pearl, and attacks the town of Port Royal, kidnapping the beautiful daughter of the governor, Elizabeth Swann. Her childhood friend, Will Turner, joins Jack on a daring pursuit to rescue her and confront Barbossa.
