La Thuile Trail – – Memorial Edo Camardella

Thanks to past year success and in the hope to achieve even greater results this year, we have confirmed the past three courses: the classic 25km Trail, the breathtaking 60km Ultra Trail, and the thrilling Vertical on Sunday.

25KM - 1500M D+

The 25km course with a positive difference in altitude of approximately 1500M of D will start on Saturday 23rd July 2022 with a departure at 8.30am from the village centre. The route takes in some of the most breathtaking views and historical sites in La Thuile. The runners will reach the Deffeyes refuge by the beautiful "balcony" path, from where they will approach the majestic Ruitor glacier, its moraine and its beautiful lakes. The course will then lead the runners through the Bellacomba valley, continue towards the Tchuielletta lakes and descend to the village, passing through the woods where the ski slopes are located in winter. The finish line is located in the centre of the village, at the starting point.

ULTRA TRAIL 60KM - 3500M D+

One of last year's two novelties, which returns this year, an ultra trail of about 60 km with a positive difference in altitude of about 3500 metres which will start on Saturday 23 July 2022 at 6.00 am from the city centre. The first part of the route follows the picturesque and challenging course of its little brother. The runners will cross the 25km finish line in the village where they will be greeted by the warm cheers of the locals and tourists, before continuing through the Youla Valley and around Mount Nix. A long diagonal run will take the runners to the Col de Berrio Blanc, then they will reach the maximum altitude of 2800m at Mont Fortin, enjoy the view at the Col Chavanne and cross the valley of the same name along the stream to the area of the Restaurant Lo Riondet, with a final effort they will climb the path that will take them into the woods under the cable car to finish the race to the village.

VERTICAL KILOMETRE - 1100 D+

This year we are also renewing the proposal of a spectacular Vertical Race of about 4.2 km with a positive difference in altitude of about 1100 metres, along the mythical Franco Berthod World Cup run number 3. The KV will take place on Sunday 24 July 2022, starting at 10 a.m. in front of the Planibel ski school. The itinerary includes the ascent on the famous ski run and the arrival at the summit of Chaz Dura at 2600 metres, a panoramic point from which one has a privileged view of Mont Blanc and can admire mountain ranges from France to the Matterhorn.
