THE SKIERS’ TRAIL
THE ESPACE SAN BERNARDO
With impressive summits such as Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn, the Monte Rosa Massif and the Grandes Jorasses as neighbours, La Rosière is in truly great company.
In winter, when the sun is reflected off the snow-covered summits, the view from the top of La Rosière’s ski area is breathtaking. What better way to explore the area than on skis?
Stretching from the Miravidi to the Mont Valezan via the Petit St Bernard pass, the Espace San Bernardo links the French slopes around La Rosière to the neighbouring Italian slopes of La Thuile for a uniquely international ski area. From the Belvédère pass take the slopes around La Thuile to discover a new resort with a distinct Italian flavour.
Skiing around the Espace San Bernardo is a whole new experience. You will never forget gliding from one country to another across some of the best areas in the heart of the Alps, with a wealth of spectacular panoramas in the background. It really is the perfect way to spend the day!
Buy a ticket for the chairlift from the lift operator then take the Roches Noires Express chairlift from the bottom of the slopes in La Rosière, next to the Maison du Ski. Please ask at the Tourist Office or the Lift Pass Office for terms and conditions of use. The lift will take you up to the Roc Noir, at an altitude of 2330m. When you get off the lift at the top, turn right down the ski slope and walk under the chairlift itself. Head towards the pathway which overhangs the Petit St Bernard pass, and you will see the former military sites around the Roc Noir. Keep going down the same path towards the golf course and the resort itself. Go past the golf clubhouse and follow the road down. When you reach the bend just above the altiport hangar, turn right off the road and walk across the fields towards the bottom of the chairlift. Take the path under the drag lift down to the bottom of the slopes.
